Folding, Bi-Fold & Panoramic Glass Doors

Bi-fold, accordion, folding or panoramic — different names, one idea: glass panels that fold and stack aside so the whole wall opens to the Texas outdoors.

Folding, Bi-Fold & Panoramic Doors in Texas

What you need to know

Folding glass doors are made of panels hinged together that slide on a track and stack neatly to one or both sides. Fully open, they remove nearly the entire wall between your living room and patio, pool or outdoor kitchen.

You will hear them called bi-fold doors, accordion doors, folding patio doors, panoramic doors and folding glass walls. We help you choose panel count, stacking direction, sill type and glass so your opening works every day — not just on photo day.

Texas means bugs, wind-driven rain and summer heat. We recommend the right sill for exposure, integrated retractable screens for mosquito season, Low-E glass to manage solar heat, and impact-rated systems for the coast.

Folding, Bi-Fold & Panoramic Doors FAQ

What is the difference between bi-fold, accordion and panoramic doors?

They are mostly different names for the same system: hinged glass panels that fold and stack to the side. 'Panoramic' usually signals slimmer frames and larger glass; 'accordion' describes the zig-zag stacking motion.

Folding doors or sliding doors — which is better?

Folding doors open the most clear width because panels stack tightly to the side. Sliding and lift-and-slide doors keep bigger, uninterrupted glass panels and narrower frames when closed. If the opening matters most, fold. If the closed view matters most, slide.

Do folding glass doors leak?

A well-installed system with the right sill and overhang performs very well. Flush sills look seamless but need protection from wind-driven rain; weather-rated sills handle exposed walls.

Can folding doors have screens?

Yes. Retractable pleated screens are available for most openings — a must for Texas evenings.
